Wellness and Workplace Prevention Program (Individualized or Group)
Our wellness and workplace interventions can decrease the use of Workers Compensation claims through worksite assessment and subsequent safety and ergonomic recommendations for a workplace. Our wellness programs provide information on the following topics, back education, proper body mechanics, ergonomic workplace set ups, exercise programs, and task pacing. IRC promotes health in the workplace and has had many positive experiences with increased workplace moral through the implementation of a group wellness program.
IRC Mental Health Program
This approach involves active participation of all the stakeholders (workers, practitioners, employers, unions, coworkers, and managers) as collaborators in the intervention. IRC has developed a detailed guideline to deal with mental health issues in the workplace. The 3 main points of our program include:
- Assessment
- Intervention
- Return To Work
Solutions for mental health disabilities are complex and tailored to the specific workplace and worker.
With IRC’s Occupational Therapist’s focus on the interplay between the worker, the workplace, and the
work itself, the Occupational Therapist can significantly contribute to the development of a healthy and
productive workplace.
IRC Acquired Brain Injury Protocol
Recent studies have shown continued vocational, lifestyle and habitual support helps individuals suffering with an acquired brain injury (ABI) recover faster and fuller than ever thought possible. With the right tools, consistency and strategies, some ABI clients can integrate back into society as functioning, independent, employed members of our communities. IRC has attended the First and Second International Conference for Vocational Outcomes in Acquired Brain Injury (2005, 2007), and is proud to report our services, protocols and interventions (that have been in place for years), are ahead of their times and up to par with the most current, groundbreaking information available to the medical world.
IRC does not want to replicate or replace the well established services already in place throughout Saskatchewan, but rather to complement them and provide assistance in less-serviced areas or to programs experiencing heavy case loads.
Early Intervention Procedures
Our multidisciplinary team approach provides clients with access to necessary medical practitioners and can facilitate treatment within days of the client being away from work. This results in less time loss, an earlier return to work and constant communication between all involved parties (employer, client, insurer, and medical practitioners).
MAP – Managed Abilities Program ™
The Managed Abilities Program supports the health of employees and application of their abilities in the workplace, which in turn, supports the organization. The values of respect and individual and organizational responsibilities flow throughout the program.
We believe “Employee Abilities are more important than Disabilities”. The appropriate application of those abilities in the workplace will contribute to individual and organizational goals, including those of personal health and patient care.
